I miss the hell out of you, my darlings. &hearts

I've been crazy busy with working, baking, knitting, doing charity work, planning, and occasionally sleeping when I have a moment here or there.

I haven't forgotten about LJ, I swear it. I MISS YOU ALL. Let me know how you are, kids. :D

ALSO: LOST IS BACK ON 2/02/10. ';ldkf'l;ask'l;sdfk';lasdkl;sdf

ALSO ALSO: No new Supernatural until JANUARY!???? WHAT THE HELL.

Guys, I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately. I've been too busy making EVERYTHING EVER. I can't stop. And there's no end in sight - next Friday my friend and I are going to have a table at my company craft fair, selling tiny Jewish apple cakes and pumpkin bread to raise money for our burgeoning craft workshop business.

ANYWAY. I have pictures. :D

Yet another baby blanket and my Mad Men Halloween costume! )

So. I'm now working on my EIGHTH blanket since last summer. EIGHTH. My hands! My poor hands! I can't wait until I can finally make something for MYSELF again. Every night when I get home from work I do the "Time to make the donuts" guy impression and walk into my room toward my knitting stuff going, "Time to make the blanket."

I have to get all this done before LOST comes back and sucks up all my time for 6 months!

This weekend if I get a minute I'll post some pictures of adorable animals from that trip to upstate New York I went on earlier this month. Alpacas are seriously the cutest animals on the planet, I swear.

This Friday I am venturing off to New York's Hudson River Valley (alone!!) to attend a gigantic yarn/sheep/fall festival for the weekend that knitters everywhere refer to simply as Rhinebeck.

To do:
- Drive up the scenic Taconic Parkway and see all the pretty fall colors and Catskill mountains (as long as it doesn't SNOW like it's supposed to - wtf, NY?).
- Attend an orchestra performance of Beethoven's 1st and 2nd Symphonies at Bard College Friday night.
- Go to Rhinebeck and buy an absolute assload of yarn. And needles. And other stuff.
- Consume as much apple cider and ridiculous deep-fried festival food as possible.
- Meet at least 1 world-famous knitter and have them autograph their books. (I'm taking a workshop with Lily Chin! But I'd love to meet Ysolda too.)
- Knit a row of the Big Sock.
- Witness a pumpkin chucking contest. And a fiddle contest.
- Get as much free wine and cheese as possible.
- See a baby sheep, baby goat, baby bunny, and baby alpaca...and squee accordingly.
- Attend the Ravelry Party, which already has 429 confirmed attendees O_O
- Enjoy the crispy fall air, as I'll be outside all day, all weekend!

My life has been insanely hectic for months now. Between my crazy job, crazy [CRAZY] family, my friends, dating, attempting to start a business, knitting more gifts than my schedule actually allows, and running various blogs, the thought of getting to jump in my car all by myself and spend 3 days driving around New York, buying yarn, hanging out with knitters, eating deep-fried Twinkies, and basically doing whatever the hell I want sounds like the best goddamn thing ever. I don't care if this entire thing makes me seem like the lamest person ever. I AM EXCITED. HUZZAH.

No internet while I'm gone, but I'll be updating Twitter all weekend with photos and whatnot. Follow me for pictures of baby goats!

So. After 5 years of yogurt lid Olympic medals, awkward elevator rides, fancy new Beeslys, being very passionate about Italian food, 27-second silences, jinxing and buyings of Coke, green teapots and dorky high school photos, dental hydroplosion, drunk Dundies speeches, beet farm excursions, walkings on hot coals, Roys and Karens, and of course parking lot confessions of love outside Casino Night, we're finally going to get to see the cutest TV couple get hitched. &hearts SIGH.

COME, GIRLS! LET US FLAIL TOGETHER!

So what do you guys think, anyone up for an ongoing post of the JAM wedding tomorrow night (9-10 EST)?

I know I sure want to do it.

;_; GET YOUR KLEENEX HANDY.

(That's what he said.)

I finished a baby blanket! And I have another one in progress! Because apparently all I knit anymore are baby blankets! LOL. I wish my friends would stop being so damn fertile for 3 seconds so I could make a pair of gloves or something.

ANYWAY.

Not to toot my own horn, but this blanket is freaking awesome. )

Also: Are you on Ravelry? ADD ME!

Also also: ANYONE GOING TO RHINEBECK??? It's like NEXT WEEKEND!!! I can't freaking wait.

Mad Men! )

I have two friends who also watch Mad Men, and we've decided that for Halloween the three of us are going to dress up as girls from the Sterling Cooper secretarial pool! HOW AWESOME IS THAT!? I'm so excited haha.

So I officially have a crush on Finn from Glee. Why? Because he is adorable.

Also, he is so very, very tall. I'm just glad that while he might be playing a 17 year old on the show, he's only a year younger than me in real life. That way I feel a lot less pervy :D (It's amusing how the teachers and students were all born within like...4 years of each other.)

I didn't think I'd like this show, as I have a complete hatred for musicals, but I actually like it a lot. It's funny and weird, and even though I hate the showiness of the musical numbers (my own pet peeve), the songs themselves are great, so it works out.

Also, Josh Groban's "blousey alcoholic" line was A+. And Jane Lynch can do no wrong in my book. Curt is fierce. I also love that the crazy pedophile's name is Sandy Ryerson, considering he's the guy from Groundhog's Day that says, "NED!? NED RYERSON!?"

The Office was perfect this week!!! Finally! After a few weeks of so-so episodes, I felt like this one totally got it right!

WHAT DOES A BEAN MEAN!? )

I'm not a cryer by any means, but I'm telling you guys I am going to freaking BAWL MY EYES OUT NEXT WEEK. Just that little preview they showed got me misty.

Speaking of which, I DECIDED TO HAVE A JIM AND PAM WEDDING ONGOING POST!!! It's an hour-long episode and we could all squee together. Come and hang out :D

(Remember our JAM-BOREES???? Aw.)

Also, Supernatural...oh, Castiel. "Are you high?" HAHAHA YES.

Do you ever catch yourself saying the same word or phrase over and over and OVER again one day and get totally annoyed at yourself because you don't MEAN to do it, it just HAPPENS?

I must have said "jacked up" at least 4,000 times in the last 2 days, and I have no idea why. I don't even like that phrase very much.

I've also said "redonkulous" enough this week to last me a year or two.

So Dexter's new baby's name is Harrison?

HARRI-SON?

HARRY'S SON?

LOL. Subtle. Nice.

Of all the things I'd have loved to see on Dexter again, more old man ass was not one of them. Yikes. Lithgow was awesome, though. Very creepy.

I just got one of my good friends into BSG. And he loves it. And he's been having these marathons and texting me randomly throughout with comments, like "OH NO, *insert name of beloved character who gets killed in "Sacrifice" that I wouldn't want to spoil for people*" and "Fat Lee!" and he just finished Exodus Part 2 and it's making me a';lsdfk';lsdk.

We brought 'em home, Saul.
Not all of 'em.

;_____;

I miss BSG so much. SO MUCH. At least I am reliving the entire series vicariously via texts from my friend. I can't wait for The Plan to come out, even though I doubt it will be any good haha.

SIGH.

The Big Bang Theory actually made me ~*Laugh Out Loud*~ tonight multiple times. I have no idea how a show that started out so mediocre has become one of the funniest shows on TV (I'd say Jim Parsons has a whooole lot to do with that, but I digress) but I love it.

I won't spoil anything for those who haven't seen it yet, but the bit with the guys coming out of the doorway? PRICELESS. HAHAHA.

Any suggestions as to where to find really awesome:
a) Big Bang Theory icons
b) Mad Men icons (ETA: I was just informed Roger Sterling is now following me on Twitter HAHA yesss)
c) How I Met Your Mother icons?

So I'm slow cooking a pork roast in a crock pot overnight, and I had to rub it with liquid smoke before I stuck it in there, and now I can't get my hands to stop smelling like a dirty sponge laying in the kitchen of a Burger King ;_;

In other news, I'm halfway through Book 5 of the Sookie Stackhouse series. Not loving this one as much, I think it's the severe lack of vampires! More Eric, plz.

P.S. Tonight's House was called "Epic Fail." And I love that.

Mad Men was OUT OF CONTROL AWESOME TONIGHT.

I need to discuss this haha. )

I love this show SO MUCH. Every episode is pretty much perfect.

I think I'm going to be Peggy Olsen for Halloween. I'd be Joan, but there's no way in hell I could ever pull that off haha.

1. FlashForward has promise, I have to admit. I don't like that they picked so many British actors to play Americans (just let them be British, sheesh!) but I thought it was pretty cool. Jack Davenport! Joseph Fiennes! Harold/Sulu! Penny from Lost! Roger's bitchy wife from Mad Men! Ruby from Supernatural! Seth McFarlane for some reason! And hopefully Dom Monaghan soon!

It's a cool idea, I really hope they can pull it off!

Did you all see the Oceanic Airline sign in the background? HAHA, ohhh ABC. I also saw a Desperate Housewives bus ad in the background.

2. SUPERNATURAL WAS AWESOME ON A VARIETY OF LEVELS. It was both hilarious and CRAZY. a's;ldfka';lsfkas;ld

Supernatural spoilers... )

And now I'm off to watch The Office. And Bones. And Community. And Fringe. And Project Runway. And It's Always Sunny. Goddamn you, Thursdays!!! I need to go to bed...eventually!

True Blood Finale!!! )

Oh well, I don't care if it's not the same as the book, this show is freaking awesome!!! I'm actually glad they don't match because it's like getting twice the number of stories with the same people haha!

I am ripping through the books so fast it's ridiculous. I read the 3rd and almost all the 4th in like 2 days. I'll probably finish it tonight! I'm liking them more as I go on - probably because I have no idea what's going to happen.

Eric in the 4th book is Out. Of. Control. I have 3 words for anyone who has read it: Red. Bikini. Underwear. LOL. I also like Book Sam more than Show Sam. Although Book Bill seems like more of a jerk than Show Bill. Book Jason has NOTHING on Show Jason.

These books...they're not Shakespeare, but they're so much fun to read. Half the time I'm reading them I feel like I'm sitting next to Charlaine Harris in a beauty parlor, with our heads stuck in those giant blow dryers, gossiping about men and clothes and whatever else haha. And she uses phrases like "spanky new" and "snick and snee" hahaha. I love it.

P.S. Awesome interview with Alan Ball about the finale and what's coming next year HERE.
